Certain people need to ‘kpai’ for Nigeria to become great – El-Rufai’s son

Bashir El-Rufai, the son of the former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has said that some people need to die for Nigeria to achieve the greatness everyone desires.

Bashir and his father have been vocal since Bola Tinubu assumed office as the president of Nigeria in May 2023.

Recently, his father, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) denounced his membership with the party.

El-Rufai, a key player in the coalition team aimed at ousting President Tinubu and the APC from power first associated with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) before jumping ship to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the official political platform for the coalition.

However, in a post on X on Friday, Bashir said Nigeria can truly achieve greatness.

He, however, noted that for this to happen, certain people have to “kpai” – Nigerian slang for death.

His words, “Nigeria can become great again. Unfortunately or fortunately (depending on context) a few certain people have to kpai to achieve this dream.”
