“Champion of rigging, promoter of fraud” – Melaye tears INEC chairman apart in new video

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Saturday’s governorship election in Kogi state, Dino Melaye, has slammed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the conduct of the polls.

In an interview  with AIT, Melaye, who came third after the final collation of results, described the events of last Saturday as a sham.

The former Kogi west lawmaker also took a swipe at the INEC chairman, Professor Mahmoud Yakubu.

“He [Yakubu] is a promoter of fraud, supporter of illegality and champion of rigging,” Melaye announced.

“I have seen rigging in diverse forms since I started politics. I’ve seen ballot papers snatching, stuffing, pockets of violence, inflation of results and so on.

“But what happened in Kogi is legendary and has never happened in the history of mankind. It has never happened in south of the Sahara or north of the Limpopo. What I saw was unimaginable,” he added.

Earlier, Melaye called for a cancellation of the election alleging that figures were allocated to each candidate.
