Coalition: ‘It was fruitful’, Atiku says after meeting with PDP leaders in Abuja

Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president of Nigeria and a two-time presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that his meeting with the party leaders was a successful one.

Atiku met with some leaders of the party including former Senate President, David Mark; a former National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus; ex-governors of Jigawa, Sokoto and Cross River; Sule Lamido, Aminu Tambuwal and Liyel Imoke; Tom Ikimi among others.

In a photo post made on X shortly after the meeting, Atiku wrote, “It was a fruitful meeting of concerned leaders of the PDP.”

The party leaders and members met at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja on Tuesday, July 1.

Politics Nigeria gathered that the meeting chaired by David Mark was aimed at discussing issues of the most talked-about political coalition.

The coalition championed by Atiku; former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai and other key political leaders is aimed at ousting power from President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.

The meeting comes barely 24 hours after the PDP Board of Trustees attended the party’s National Executive Council which also took place in Abuja.

  1. Nigeria is on the way to ending, there are two things that will happen in 2027, is either Tinibu is allowed to complete his 8yrs, or nigeria is sepereted. The Tinibu I know will not let this seat off his hand.
