The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya has assured President Bola Tinubu of loyalty by the Nigerian Army.
The Army boss gave the assurance on Thursday, June 15, during the inauguration of the newly-constructed ultra-modern headquarters of the Nigerian Army School of Military Engineering complex in Makurdi, Benue state.
He assured that the Army would always remain professional to enable the president to achieve his vision of a safe and secure Nigeria for economic and other social activities to thrive.
“Be assured of our resolve to confront the security challenges facing the nation,” Yahaya pledged.
His comments came on a day the president appointed Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as his special adviser on security.
Ribadu is a former Nigerian police officer and politician who was the Chairman of the Petroleum Revenue Task Force at some point.
He is, however, notable for his anti-corruption fight as the first chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
