The Zamfara state government has revealed that the late Emir of Kaura-Namoda, Alhaji Ahmad Asha was killed by the COVID-19 virus.
According to the Publicity Secretary of the Zamfara Committee on Prevention and Control of COVID-19 Mustapha Jafaru, the late monarch was in isolation at the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau.
He revealed that the Emir’s blood sample which was taken to Abuja for tests returned positive.
The traditional ruler has since been buried in Kaura-Namoda by officials of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The late Emir has joined a growing list of notable dignitaries who have succumbed to the deadly virus.
