Mike Adenuga, the owner of Globacom, has perfected the donation of N1 billion to Coronavirus relief fund account.
POLITICS NIGERIA reported how he was called out on social media by Femi Otedola on Monday.
This newspaper obtained a letter of confirmation sent from Sterling Bank to the billionaire. The letter was dated April 3, 2020.
“As you are well aware, we made Bank drafts for the total sum of N1 billion only on 30th of March 2020 in favour of COVID-19 Relief Fund Account”.
“We are pleased to confirm that we have wired the full value of the draft to the beneficiary – CBN Account as per your instructions in spite of the limited banking services occasioned by the pandemic”, the letter read.
Mr Adenuga made a total of N1.5 billion of which N500 million had been Lagos State government.
This newspaper reported that before now, the sum of N19 billion has been realised from the private sector.
As at the time of this report, Nigeria has recorded 232 cases of Coronavirus across 13 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
