COVID-19: Davido shuns directives, performs at Ibadan Clubs

Despite the directives of government that all night clubs be closed, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, performed at two different clubs in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

The club had more than 50 people in attendance at one of Nigeria’s largest cities, on Saturday.

According to reports, Davido appeared at a wedding in Ibadan in the afternoon and was cited at night at Club Derok and Stone Café.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has now confirmed 26 cases in Lagos, Abuja, Ekiti, and Oyo state.

On Sunday morning, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, confirmed the first case of COVID in the state. He said the victim, in his 50s, returned from the UK recently and has been in isolation for the past four days.

His sample was taken to Lagos where the result came out positive.

Mr Makinde said that another person who just returned from the U.S. has also been isolated and the result of his test being awaited.

This newspaper understands that the index case and the second case have both been discharged.
