COVID-19: FG Speaks On Governor Makinde’s Treatment, Recovery

The Federal Government has said it is not aware of the treatment procedure used in curing Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State of Coronavirus.

Minister of State for Health, Olorunnimbe Mamora, said this on Wednesday during Presidential Task Force briefing on COVID-19, in Abuja the nation’s capital.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Makinde on April 5 announced via his official Twitter handle that he has tested negative for Coronavirus.

Makinde’s negative result comes six days after he went into self-isolation and began receiving treatment

In an interview with a radio station in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, Makinde said he fought the deadly virus with carrots, vitamin C and black seed oil, and honey.

Makinde added that he used his time in isolation to regularly exercise on the treadmill.

Speaking further, Mamora said it is only governor Makinde can answer if he was treated using herbal medicine.

“I am not aware of what the treatment protocol his Excellency, Oyo State governor had to test negative.

“I am not even aware of where he was treated. I will even need that information to make a categorical statement,” he said.

Mamora, however, said the federal government is happy to receive a consignment of medical kits and a medical team from China to contain COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.
