Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has tested negative for coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, POLITICS NIGERIA reports.
In a tweet on his Twitter handle, the governor said he received his laboratory results from the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Wahab Adegbenro, on Wednesday.
According to Akeredolu, his samples were collected after coming in contact with Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, who tested positive for the deadly virus.
The governor added that the fight to protect the lives of the citizens continues, thanking all front line key workers fighting to protect the people of the state.
He shared the message his Commissioner for Health sent to him: “Good morning sir. The result is negative. Congratulations your Excellency”
In his tweet, Akeredolu said, “I just received the above text from the Commissioner for Health regarding my #Covid19 test results. We give all the glory to God. Wish everyone affected speedy recovery.”
