The Federal Government has disbursed over N147 million to 7,351 vulnerable women in Guri Local Government Area of Jigawa under the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Programme.

Alhaji Abubakar Dan-Barde, Cash Transfer Unit Coordinator in the area, made the disclosure on Monday during the disbursement in Guri.

According to NAN, each woman received N20,000 as payment covering the months of January, February, March, and April.

He said another set of 1,140 women would soon be paid the support funds after they were issued with their payment cards.

The coordinator said the combined payment of four months stipend was made to cushion the effect of movement restriction imposed by the government across the country.

A beneficiary, Hajiya Ladidi Kabo, thanked the Federal Government for the support, saying she would use the money to shop for the upcoming Ramadan fasting and Eid- al-Fitr festivities.

The CCT is a Federal Government program aimed at reducing poverty through the payment of a monthly stipend of N5,000 to each registered vulnerable woman.

The conditions include: showing evidence of immunization, antenatal attendance, and environmental sanitation.
