Following the widespread of Coranavirus across the globe, the management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University (UDUS), Sokoto has set travel protocol for all members of the university community.

The institution made this known in a memo signed by its Registrar, N.A. Belko, on Wednesday.

According to the memo, members of staff are to avoid travelling to Lagos and Abuja as both cities have recorded high numbers of COVID-19 cases.

It reads: “There is no reported case of COVID-19 in Sokoto so far, but cases in Abuja and Lagos are worrisome.

“Therefore, the management advises all members of staff to avoid travelling to these two cities as much as possible.”

The memo also stated that any member of staff who wishes to travel should inform the Registrar.

It added that any member returning from study leave or any travel abroad are advised not to access any office in the university until after 14 days.

“If any member of staff must travel, let him inform the Registrar. On return, he/she should kindly isolate himself for a period of two weeks.

“Any member returning from study leave or any travel abroad is hereby advised not to access any office in the university until after 14 days,” it added.
