Dabiri-Erewa attacks APC for not appointing women on Edo Primary Committee

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has attacked the ruling party for sidelining women in the composition of the primary election panel in Edo state.

This newspaper reports that the party’s NWC had appointed two committees made up of men responsible for conducting its governorship primary in Edo.

But in a tweet via its Twitter handle on Sunday, the APC chapter of Edo announced the arrival of the seven-man committee led by Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state.

“Members of the Edo State Primary Election Committee led by Hope Uzodimma have arrived Benin City ahead of tomorrow’s exercise,” the tweet read.

In reaction, Dabiri-Erewa, who is the Chief Executive officer (CEO) of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), expressed surprise over the non-inclusion of a woman on the committee.

“Na wa o. APC. Not a single woman ? Haba !!!” she tweeted.
