Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has cautioned the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu and the National Working Commitee (NWC) of the party to desist from threatening the G-5 governors and members of the Integrity Group with suspension.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that according to Governor Wike, Ayu has by his recent action, opened up a new chapter of political war in the party.
Wike expressed his displeasure when he spoke at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday while reacting to the NWC’s decision to refer Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State to the party’s disciplinary committee and suspension of former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose and others.
“You cannot cage any of us. Ortom will not appear before any of your so-called disciplinary committee. Ayodele Fayose will also never appear before any disciplinary committee,” Wike said.
This newspaper reports that the G5, a group of aggrieved PDP governors, is led by Wike and Ortom.
