The details of the meeting between President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria and President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa have emerged.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the two African leaders held a private meeting in Johannesburg on Thursday.
The meeting took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, following President Ramaphosa’s inauguration for a second term in office.
According to a statement by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngalale, President Ramaphosa expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for attending the inauguration ceremony.
“Thank you so much for coming for the inauguration. I was very happy to see my brother at the ceremony,” President Ramaphosa said.
President Tinubu used the meeting to praise President Ramaphosa’s inaugural speech.
“I really enjoyed your speech at the ceremony. We have lots of issues in common, and we need to work more closely together. It was a good celebration,” President Tinubu said.
President Ramaphosa’s re-election on June 14, 2024, followed an agreement between the African National Congress (ANC) and the Democratic Alliance for a Government of National Unity.
It is quite unfortunate and shameful for Aisha Yesufu’s penchant display of ignorance and indecorum on series of unfounded and unwarranted claims about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially her spurious and ill-calculated account of the President Tinubu’s trip to President Cyril Ramaphosa’s inauguration, which shows her curious frivolity and absurd exhibit of naivety.
