The representatives of the Federal Government in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance are currently holding a meeting with executives of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in Abuja over the ongoing two-week warning strike embarked upon by lecturers.
The two sides had earlier met last Thursday over Federal Government proposed the merger of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System and ASUU salary payment system.
The government urged ASUU to plead with its members to call off the strike.
