Senator Dino Melaye, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, has taken to social media to rejoice over his victory in the just-concluded party primary election.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Melaye, a former lawmaker, shared the official results on his Twitter handle on Tuesday, revealing that he scored 313 votes to emerge as the winner. His closest rival, Idoko Ilonah, trailed behind with 124 votes.
Recall that the returning officer had declared Melaye as the winner of the PDP primaries on Sunday. This morning (Tuesday), he expressed his gratitude to God for the victory.

With a picture of the result sheet, Melaye wrote, “Only God could have done this.
“To God alone be the glory. Result of Kogi State PDP Governorship primary election.”
