The Director of News of the Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation (RSBC), Anthony-Nwokocha, in Port Harcourt, has been reportedly kidnapped by gunmen.
The Director of Administration, RSBC, Pastor Ebi Ogolo, who confirmed the development to journalists, said Anthony-Nwokocha was kidnapped on her way home from work.
Ogolo, however, pleaded with security agencies to intervene urgently and ensure her quick and safe release.
In the meantime, the Rivers State Police Command has been notified of the abduction, but their official statement has yet to get to journalists.
Recently, there has been an increase in kidnap cases in the south-south state.
The Rivers State Police Command has, however, assured that measures would be implemented to nip the crisis in the bud.
