“Don’t protest against Tinubu, governors, ministers… pray for them” – Adeboye advises Nigerians

Pastor Richard Adeboye, the pastor-in-charge of Region 12 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has called for more prayers for President Bola Tinubu, the 36 states governors, ministers and others elected officials for Nigeria to overcome its challenges.

Pastor Adeboye said instead of protesting and cursing them as done in the past with no reprieve in sight, Nigerians should rather rely on the instrument of prayer for a desired turnaround for the good of the country.

The cleric disclosed this while speaking with newsmen at this year’s Halleluyah Mega Praise Night, Season 2 with the theme, ‘Dominion’, held at the Shimawa High School, Ogun State.

“There is no nation like Nigeria. The fact that we are still surviving is a symbol that God has created this nation in a very unique way and very soon, we shall shout victory at last,” Adeboye said.

“Nigerians should stand in the place of responsibility, because I have this philosophy that every possibility of God is compelled by the responsibility of man. Let’s do what we’re supposed to do.

“Let’s move closer to God. And let’s believe in God and whatever we need to do physically, let’s do it. We’re not saying we should protest or fight against the government. We have done that in the past, we didn’t win the battle.

“The Bible says that the heart of the king is in the hand of God. If only we could talk to God that put them there, I believe things will change and very soon, it will change for the better.

“My message to our leaders is that they should recognise the one that actually put them on the throne. We should stop fighting our leaders. The role of the church is to preach righteousness and establish integrity. If the world sees that what we preach is what we are doing, I believe it will go round and it will be contagious, and very soon, everybody will be affected,” he added.

  1. If Pastor Adeboye cannot tell the husband to one of his pastor, whom Nigerians are suffering and dying in his leadership, if he could not be bold enough to tell him the indispensability of repentance and restitution, before prayer for him could be answered, then he is not ready to be used by God yet in situations like this.
    2Chro 7:14
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
John the Baptist, Jesus Christ, and other Apostles of Christ preach repentance as the theme of their gospel messages.
He should be more concerned with the salvation of Tinubu than his political success.
We rather pray to God to give Nigerians grace to bear and survive the suffering and not for a self-willed individual who is bent on destroying anything that is transparent, orderly, and righteous in the sight of God and man.

  2. Wetin you mean by everything is not prayer. This could be our easy problem in this country bcos everybody want to play God n God can never play man

  3. The type of mentality and message to the masses that had held NIGERIA down. Our religious leaders are also a party to this corruption in this country. What we need now in this country is not just protest, but strong REVOLUTION. This elites and religious leaders don’t know what ordinary NIGERIANS are passing through on daily basis these days.

  8. This business and political pastor should respect himself go have rest and leave Nigerians alone, if I may ask, why this man always support bad leaders? he supported buhari claimed that his god and not (God) that we all serves will use buhari to fix Nigeria, and now he supported tunibu claimed the same thing and as Nigerians not to go on protest but pray for extremely bad, wicked, terrorists, criminals and tribal fanatics leaders, are you thinking what I’m thinking?

  9. Adeboye you’re a devil incarnate, Except you’re a Criminal, How dare you ask Nigerians to pray for a Drug Baron Tinibu ? Is something wrong with you ?

  10. Nonese talk about prayer all the time. Most of our religious leaders think because their churches are full to the brim every Sunday, we don’t have Nigerians that think anymore. Sir it is a SIN to intentionally give us a wrong formala to solve a problem that requires a different formula, when you know that the countries you were trained or your kids are trained aren’t using prayers as a means for good governance. May history forgive some of you
