In a dramatic turn of events at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, former Minister of Information Labaran Maku found himself in a frantic search for his missing cell phone.
The ex-Minister was part of a group of politicians from Nasarawa state showing support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate, David Ombugada.
Daily Trust reports that as tensions escalated during the court proceedings related to the Nasarawa governorship election nullification, Maku’s phone vanished, causing visible distress.
Despite vigorous efforts by Maku, his aides, and supporters to locate the phone, their search proved unsuccessful, prompting suggestions to track the device.
The incident unfolded against the backdrop of the nullification of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s election, ruling in favour of Ombugadu, who now awaits the court’s final decision as Sule challenges the tribunal’s verdict under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Meanwhile, a three-member panel of justices, led by Justice U. Onyemenam, has reserved judgment, leaving both parties in suspense as they await the communication of the date for the crucial decision.
