A top commander of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) has been arrested by the State Security Service (SSS).
According to PRNigeria, the IPOB commander was nabbed after operatives of the service and some Nigerian Army soldiers launched an attack on the proscribed group on Monday.
According to top security sources, the IPOB commander specialises in coordinating the group’s activities in Ebonyi State.
The source also said that the 600 rounds of ammunition among other weapons were recovered from the IPOB commander.
“He had recruited several mercenaries in preparation for further attacks in Ebonyi State.
“Meanwhile, about six hundred (600) rounds of 5.56mm calibre ammunition among other items were recovered from the suspect,” the source said.
