Economic hardship in Nigeria temporary, positive results ahead, says Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has assured Nigerians that the ongoing economic hardship in the country is temporary, with positive results expected soon.

During the launch of the resurfacing of 189 roads in the Maitama District, Garki, and Utako on Tuesday, Wike acknowledged the challenges faced by citizens.

He emphasized that the complexities of changing the economy involve temporary setbacks but assured that these difficulties are part of a larger strategy for positive transformation.

“To change the economy is not by mouth. So, many things will go wrong, but in going wrong, it will get right. The wrong is the effect on you temporarily,” Wike said.

Encouraging patience and understanding among the populace, Wike urged Nigerians not to focus solely on the current challenges but to anticipate positive outcomes resulting from the economic policies of the Bola Tinubu administration.

“What the President is doing today will yield positive results soon. We may be having some inconveniences, we agree. But be patient. You will see the turnaround of things. I will never support what will not work,” he stated.

Wike called for a balanced perspective, advocating for discussions that acknowledge government policies’ challenges and positive aspects.

Additionally, he warned that contracts of underperforming contractors would be revoked in the FCT.

  1. Do you know or feel the hardship? Why many things will go wrong only for the masses?
If we must suffer for better future, we should all be in same train. But now the politicians are flying aeroplanes while the masses are left in collapsed tracks. And the soon would take a decade or even more. Please, this is not religion but life in a material world.
