Edo 2020: PDP dissolves South-South Caretaker Committee

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the dissolution of its zonal South-South caretaker committee.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, made the announcement via his Twitter handle on Wednesday.

He revealed that a reconstituted caretaker committee will be chaired by the immediate past chairman of the party in Edo state, Dan Orbih.

The tweet read: “@OfficialPDPNig dissolves zonal South-South caretaker committee and hereby reconstitutes a fresh caretaker committee,” Ologbondiyan wrote.

“The new caretaker committee is chaired by Chief Dan Orbih. Other members to be announced soon.”

POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the move was to reportedly pacifyGovernor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state, who described some members of the PDP NEC as tax collectors.
