Edo 2020: PDP speaks on Obaseki’s alleged certificates forgery

The Edo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has promised to set up a panel to investigate the alleged forged certificates of the state governor, Godwin Obaseki.

In an interview with The Punch, the state chairman of the PDP, Anthony Aziegbemi, said that the party will also screen other documents that will be presented by the governor during screening.

Aziegbemi also accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of being vindictive and unfair to the governor just because he was not in good terms with some party chieftains.

He added that the screening committee set up the suspended national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomole, was nothing but a sham. The PDP chairman, however, said the party will be transparent and fair during the screening process of its aspirants.

Azeigbemi noted the aspirants do not nurse any fear about the governor joining the party because they are strong contenders with good characters.

He also commended governor Obaseki for being courageous enough to dump the APC and defecting to the PDP, adding that the delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people will now improve.

  1. LET OBASEKI BRING ONLY HIS WAEC CERTIFICATE IF WORST COMES TO WORST. AFTER ALL THE CONSTITUTION SAID AT LEAST O-LEVEL. HE WOULD BE SCREENED.
