Edo Assembly Crisis: APC lawmakers fix Wednesday for sitting

The 17 members of the Edo House of Assembly loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) have vowed to hold their first sitting inside the assembly complex next Wednesday.

Hon Victor Edoror, factional Speaker of the assembly made this known while speaking to reporters on Saturday in Benin, the state capital.

He noted that they will be moving to the assembly complex after receiving the backing of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, who has asked the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to provide security for them.

Edoror explained that the lawmakers loyal to the immediate past chairman of the APC,  Adams Oshiomhole, had already begun sitting and would sit again on Wednesday.

He said: “Business has started, we are ready for business because the legislative arm of government has suffered a great deal, and there has been no work since the beginning of this session. We have a lot of work to do, a lot of backlogs so we have started.”
