Edo State Government has announced plans for the fifth edition of the Alaghodaro Investment Summit, which is held yearly to mark the anniversary of Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration.

Speaking at the media launch of the Alaghodaro Summit 2021 yesterday, Edo State secretary Osarodion Ogie said the event would feature an economic summit, commissioning of select projects, and other programmes.

This year’s summit is set to be held from November 12 to 14 at different venues across Benin with the theme, “Edo of Our Dreams: Building a Sustainable Future”.

The summit is organised by the Edo State Government in collaboration with private entities to showcase investment opportunities and promote economic growth.

“The Alaghodaro celebration, this year, is unique because it coincides with 30 years of the creation of our dear state,” Ogie said.

“The summit, among many other things, is going to be a celebration of the vision and sacrifice of our founding fathers and all those who have held the forte and contributed to the development of our dear state.

“The 2021 summit is aimed at consolidating on years of building a vibrant private-sector-led economy, which has benefited from wide-ranging government reforms and programmes informed by insights, learning and intelligence garnered from this sustained and evolving exchange with the private sector.”

According to Ogie, the projects to be commissioned as part of the summit include but are not limited to the John Odigie-Oyegun Training Centre, New High Court Building, and Creative Hub.
