Governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have sworn not to leave Benin City, Edo state following a seige on their hotel by several policemen on Friday night.
It will be recalled that Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike raised alarm via Twitter last night that the hotel he was residing in along with other PDP governors had been surrounded by over 300 police officers.
In an emergency press conference on Saturday in Abuja, the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus alleged that Security outfits were harassing and threatening the lives of its Governors who are currently in Benin.
“Security agents were detailed to surround the lodging of our governors to harass and intimidate them.”
He added that APC governors including the governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje; his Imo State counterpart, Hope Uzodimma as well as the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, were left free in the comfort of the GRA, Benin residence of Comrade Oshiomhole.
He revealed that every attempt to intimidate members of the party will be resisted.
We are waiting to hear from the election observers now. Please start now to speak out so that they will be level playing ground for all the parties in both the Edo and Ondo elections. Do not wait till after the rigging is carried out.
Those who claimed to be watching the Edo elections to avoid rigging, should note that election rigging in Nigeria and indeed in Africa is carried out by the security men and the elections officials. Do something now.
If the police can be used to do this to governors, What will happened to voters, and party agents will be a child’s play.
You can’t be in Abuja to resist what is going in in Benin. Come down and resist.
we honestly feel great that no doubt obaseki is going to be won ongoing voting and ize iyamu fails his prospect in this election
