The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Ekene Ibegbu for his alleged involvement in a racketeering scheme totalling over N1.5 million.
The anti-graft agency spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, made this known in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.
Ibegbu was apprehended by the Special Task Force of the Commission stationed at the Enugu Command on Thursday along the Owerri-Enugu Road.
Oyewale said the arrest was a sequel to actionable intelligence about his suspected involvement in currency racketeering.
“He would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” he said.
