15 suspected party agents have been arrested and detained by the police in Katsina State for allegedly plotting to hack the result of the presidential and national assembly election slated for today.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the spokesman of the police command in Katsina, Gambo Isah who disclosed this to newsmen on Friday evening revealed that the suspects had in their possession several electronic gadgets, laptop computers, and other tools when they were arrested.
Gambo however said further investigation into the case is ongoing and the outcome of the probe will be made public soon.
“We invited experts and they are doing their work on the system to ascertain actually what is in the place because of its sensitivity,” Gambo said.
This newspaper reports that Nigerians elect their new leader on Saturday. The 2023 election is the first in the country’s history which will not feature an incumbent or military ruler since 1999, when the nation returned to democratic rule.
