A former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has endorsed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State for a second term in office.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Fayose, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), threw his weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, saying the Lagos governor has done well in his four years in office and deserves another term.
Meanwhile, a pre-election opinion poll commissioned by Anap Foundation, a non-profit organisation, has predicted that Sanwo-Olu will win the March 11 election.
The poll results showed that Sanwo-Olu was ahead among the three leading candidates in Lagos State.
The two other candidates are Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party and Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The results of the poll, which was conducted in February before the presidential election, were released on Monday.
The poll results showed that 31 percent of the voters surveyed said they would vote for Sanwo-Olu, while 8 percent preferred Rhodes-Vivour and Jandor got 7 percent.
