Aminu Umar Kazaure, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) candidate in the 2023 election who sought to represent Kazaure/Roni/Gwiwa/Yankwashi Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, has returned to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Kazaure was welcomed back to PDP at the weekend alongside several NNPP members. The former NNPP members were from Ringim and Taura.
Welcoming the decampees to the PDP, the gubernatorial candidate of the party in Jigawa State, Mustapha Sule Lamido, wrote on his verified Facebook page: “On Saturday, we welcomed Hon. Aminu Umar Kazaure who is the flag-bearer of the election of the parliament representing Kazaure/Roni/Gwiwa/Kankwashi in the NNPP party back to PDP. On one side we have received the NNPP members of Ringim and Taura who also came back to our PDP party. We welcome them to our blessed party.”
Sending a message to the electorate, Lamido urged the people to remain confident that their votes will count and hence they should come out en masse to the polling units on March 18, 2023.
In a piece of related news, the PDP in Jigawa State has charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to address the irregularities that characterised the just concluded presidential election.
The party said the call becomes necessary considering what happened during the February 25 presidential elections in the state.
It accused INEC of some irregularities including election rigging and overvoting during the election.
