Efforts to restore power across northern states have commenced after a prolonged blackout. The Federal Government has started urgent repairs on damaged electricity lines, aiming to bring light back to affected communities.
In a video shared on social media, President Bola Tinubu’s special assistant, Dada Olusegun, provided an update showing ongoing repairs on the Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line, which was vandalized.
Olusegun stated, “The Federal Government is working quickly to restore power in most of the northern states hit by a weeklong blackout. Surveillance and repairs are underway to stabilize power in these areas.”
President Tinubu had on Monday directed the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, along with relevant agencies, to speed up the repair process.
During a briefing at Aso Rock Villa, Tinubu emphasized the urgency of restoring electricity and issued a warning against any further sabotage of public infrastructure. The government, he said, will not tolerate deliberate destruction of critical utilities.
