Former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is built for greatness if stakeholders allow consolidation.
Aregbesola made the comment at a colloquium on Thursday, June 8, organised by Comrades of Rauf Aregbesola (CORA) in Osogbo; the Osun state capital.
He noted that party members are doing their best to ensure the APC holds itself together and consolidates its strength for reflective party mobilisation and advancement.
His words:
“The party has the potential for greatness, but there is a need for consolidation; that is all I have been preaching and advocating.
“I believe those who are ready, who are willing to have the party properly positioned for political work, will heed our word for effective consolidation.”
The former minister also declared that he is not afraid of political war, while reiterating that it is time to rebuild in Osun state.
He added:
“When we left Osun after our tenure, we were blocked from entering the state. They even hauled insults at us, pelt stones and cursed us.
“But to the glory of God today, we are overwhelmingly welcome into the state by our friends and admirers.
“We cannot have God and still live in fear. My mother’s maiden name is Aduroja (stand to fight) Aduroja’s grandson cannot now be afraid of war, but culture and religion taught us to choose war carefully as we aged.
“For those who lied against us, those who pitched tents against us for survival’s sake and those who did it ignorantly, it is time to rebuild.
“I don’t have much to say but to thank God. My star will blaze again, God has assured me”.
