Some Nigerian youths have arrived at the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja on Thursday to demand the scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
The protesters arrived at the force headquarters around 10: 00 am to also protest the extra-judicial killings, extortion, illegal detention, and other misconduct by men of the tactical unit of the Police.
The campaigners sat on the Shehu Shagari Way, shouting ‘EndSARS,’ while carrying placards and paralyzing vehicular traffic. The protesters poured red paint on the road to illustrate the killings and bloodshed by SARS operatives.
Meanwhile, the police in Lagos State have dispersed some youths protesting against the activities and operations of SARS officers.
The protest, which was led by Nigerian musicians Falz and Runtow, began at Lekki toll gate, and was extedned to Onikan and Appeal Court through the Nigerian Law School.
Both Falz and Runtown counselled the protesters not to be violent as they engaged security operatives who attempted to disrupt the protest.
