#EndSARS: ‘You cannot fool us all the time’ – Kate Henshaw to Sanwo-Olu

Nigerian actress, Kate Henshaw on Wednesday aligned with the thoughts that the proposed ‘peace walk’ of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, is the preamble to the re-opening of the Lekki and Ikoyi Toll Gates.

POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that Governor Sanwo-Olu had on Tuesday invited entertainers, Seun Kuti, Falz, Mr Macaroni, and others for a ‘Peace Walk’ to herald the ‘healing of Lagos’.

Seun, Falz and Mr Macaroni declined the invite, asking the government to show signs of good faith by trusting the report of the panel it constituted.

Reacting to the ‘Peace Walk’ invite, broadcaster, Frank Edoho had written via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday, “I have a feeling this proposed peace walk is the preamble to the re-opening of the Lekki and Ikoyi Toll Gates.”

“It is!!!” Henshaw replied.

“You can fool the people some of the time but you cannot fool them all of the time!!

“One day sha…. I will be alive to see the Nigeria of my dreams!!”

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Lagos State Government has repaired the Admiralty Circle toll plaza on the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge and the Lekki toll plaza along the Lekki-Epe Expressway ahead of the planned re-opening of the tollgates.

The tollgates, which were the epicentre of the protests, were shut during the #EndSARS protests in October 2020 but were eventually burnt after the shooting of unarmed civilians on October 20.

More than a year after, the state government has yet to re-open it.
