Chief Bode George, a prominent leader within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has demanded an immediate end to the ongoing crisis within the party.
The veteran politician directly addressed the tensions between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
George expressed his frustration over the prolonged dispute, describing the situation as “nonsense” and calling for both Atiku and Wike to put aside their differences for the greater good of the party.
He stated that the PDP’s survival depends on unity, warning that continuous infighting could further undermine the party’s credibility and chances in future elections.
George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, made it clear that personal grievances should not outweigh the collective interests of the party.
He reminded the party leadership that the PDP has a history of navigating challenging moments and urged them to follow the example set by the party’s founding members.
“We must sit down. All sides, as I have stated, both Atiku and Wike, we must be bold enough to tell them, enough of this nonsense. And that is the committee that I have been saying,” George told Daily Independent.
The tensions between Atiku and Wike have been a major concern within the PDP since the conclusion of the 2023 presidential election.
