Ayodele Fayose, a former Governor of Ekiti State opted for commercial motorcycle, popularly called ‘Okada’, to avoid missing his flight at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
According to Fayose, he had to use ‘Okada’ on Tuesday because of gridlock.
“Lagos traffic is no respecter of anyone. I had to take Okada in Ikeja to avoid missing my flight,” Fayose wrote on his known Facebook page.
Lagos traffic is so snarled and gridlocked that trips from the airport to say Ajah, on Lagos Island — a journey shorter than 50 kilometers — can take an individual eight hours.
In the ‘Centre of Excellence’, the roads are clogged and millions of commuters are choked with frustration about the daily hassle in Nigeria’s commercial capital and one of Africa’s largest economy.
