Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Abba Kyari has queried the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service(FIRS) over discrepancies in Tax collections from 2015 to 2018.
According to a letter seen by POLITICS NIGERIA addressed to Fowler, Kyari stated that there were significant variances between budgeted FIRS Collections and Actual Collections for Period 2015 to 2018. He demanded a comprehensive variance analysis explaining the reasons for the discrepancies between budgeted and Actual collections for each main Tax item for each of the years 2015 to 2018.
The FIRS boss was also queried over Actual Collections for Periods 2015 to 2017 as it was ‘Significantly Worse’ that what was collected between 2012 and 2014. He was asked to explain the reasons for the poor collections.
Fowler was given a deadline of August 19th, 2019 to respond.
More of such queries required. Too much self enrichment at the expense of the people going on.
I’ll grant you that Francis, provided it is holistic and not a witchhaunt nor is it politically motivated. The question is, who queries Abba Kyari, the ultimate deal man of no comparison.?
How do you collect taxes from inactive people and entities? The policies of this administration significantly reduced economic activities; with reduced economic activities, there would be lower taxes by individuals and business entities. It is simple common sense. Stop the paranoia.

It doesn’t take a genius to see that but Abba Kyari is not smart. He just uses stupid excuses to remove none Fulanis and replace them with Fulani Muslims while the rest of us embattled Nigerians clap for them for ‘fighting’ corruption.

Why are we always hinging serious issues on tribal sentiments. Did Fowler complain of witch Hunt or is not a fact that there was significant drop in revenue collection.
Those of us that pay tax are interested in knowing why there was increase in the revenue collected when we paid our due and not defaulted.
Abba Kyari is Chief of Staff to the President and check his qualifications agaist what is needed for the office to see whether he is qualified to be there or not.
Nigeria will never somount it’s problems as long as we hinging every move by Govt suspect.
If the Govt want to remove Fowler they don’t need any excuse.
It will simply say services no longer required. Thank you for your service to the Nation period.
Abba Kyari should be told that taxes are paid from revenues of businesses.
Their policies has completely ruined businesses and Fowler is not a magician. Neither is he God. He can’t call those things that be not into being. There are very few surviving businesses so taxes are bound to be much less.
He should also be told that that is how Nigerians, real Nigerians, not Fulani herdsmen, but true Nigerians’ incomes have also depleted under their watch.
