The Oluwo of Iwo, Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has reacted to the rape allegation against him by his ex-wife, Chanel Chin. POLITICS NIGERIA reported how the controversial monarch broke up with Ms Chin in December 2019. He said the separation was borne out of “personal irreconcilable differences.”
On Friday, this newspaper reported how the ex-wife, in a five-hour Facebook live interview with GIO TV, anchored by an international blogger, Maureen Badejo, accused Mr Akanbi of several allegations including rape and deception.
Ms. Chin said she was forced to marry the monarch after he raped her on the day of their first contact, at a party in Ikeja, Lagos on February 2, 2016. She also alleged that she is Mr Akanbi’s 5th baby mama with the king’s ninth child.
Oluwo reacts
Speaking exclusively with POLITICS NIGERIA on Friday, Mr Akanbi did not admit nor deny all allegations levied against him by his ex-wife.
Oluwo’s spokesperson, Alli Ibraheem did not deny all against his principal. He simply told our correspondent that “bygone is bygone”
“The matter of the ex-olori is gone. Bygone is bygone. She has made several allegations against the king even before now but that’s not our focus for now”
“The king is feeding the people of Iwo amidst Coronavirus pandemic, the media is not reporting that. The media should ask us when Oluwo is taking new Olori”.
When POLITICS NIGERIA questioned him about this, he said: “All things are in place to make sure we have new Olori in the palace”.
