The explosion which rocked Ibadan on Tuesday has displaced a former deputy governor of Oyo State, Barrister Iyiola Oladokun, and his family.
Politics Nigeria has learned that they are currently seeking refuge with a friend.
The blast, which occurred in the vicinity of Oladokun’s residence, led to the evacuation of his family. A close associate of the former deputy governor confirmed the impact on their home and revealed that they have temporarily left the premises.
“The house of the former deputy governor of Oyo State is located in the area where the incident occurred.
“It is close to the building where the explosion occurred. They have vacated the house,” the source said.
The residence of the late Chief Bola Ige, former Attorney General of the Federation, was also affected by the explosion. Additionally, houses belonging to some University of Ibadan staff members were reported to have suffered damage in the incident.
