Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has urged the Nigerian Government to immediately rescue 30 Nigerian ladies trafficked to Lebanon.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain was reacting to a trending video released by Journalists International Forum for Migration (JIFORM), showing the Nigerians sleeping on the floor and begging President Muhammadu Buhari for rescue.
In a series of tweets on Friday, Fani-Kayode asked the President to do something to salvage the situation and regain the country’s honor and dignity in the international community.
He said the ladies were all camped in one room with faulty toilet and other utilities and were presently housed in a building at Dawra city in Lebanon.
This is sad &unfortunate. I guess not everyone will have a good sallah. Whatever they may have done wrong these are OUR people. These are OUR girls. These are OUR compatriots. These are Nigerians. We cannot abandon them. We cannot turn a blind eye to this. I have forwarded..1/4 pic.twitter.com/neFLLCD6ga
