“Ferrari engine in Peugeot” – Shehu Sani reacts to proposed PDP, Labour Party merger

Former Kaduna senator, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the proposed merger between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party and others in the country.

In a tweet on Thursday, the former lawmaker and social commentator noted that merging the PDP with the Labour Party supporters is like fixing a Ferrari engine into a peugeot vehicle.

“Merging PDP with the young, agile, and restless Labor supporters will be like fixing a Ferrari engine into a peogeot,” he tweeted.

Politics Nigeria reports that presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, had called on opposition parties to form a merger and save Nigeria from slipping into a one-party state.

Sequel to Atiku’s call, there were stories in a section of the media speculating a potential merger of the PDP with the Labour Party.

But the Labour Party was quick to dispel the rumour, while urging Nigerians to disregard the news that the party is working out a merger arrangement with any political party.

Obiora Ifoh, Labour Party’s national publicity secretary, made this known in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
