The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, (NCAA) on Friday summoned the management of Air Peace Limited over the incessant delays and cancellations of their flights.
The director of public affairs and consumer protection for NCAA, Michael Achimugu, said in a statement that the agency is worried about the continuous delay and cancellation of flights by the airline, which has impeded passengers’ activities.
Achimugu said the NCAA believes that corrective action is urgently needed regarding Air Peace’s operations.
This statement comes shortly after a meeting between the Director General of the NCAA, Captain Chris Najomo and the management of the airline.
Najomo said the NCAA has received several complaints from passengers on the chronic delays and cancellations by Air Peace.
“NCAA will continue to support the airlines, the operators must comply with the regulations and global best practices,” Najomo said.
While acknowledging that operational challenges abound, the NCAA stated that the agency will intensify its surveillance on all airlines to ensure adherence to flight schedules and operational standards.
Najomo assures that the NCAA will continue to protect the rights of passengers while ensuring that the safety of all is guaranteed.
