A fierce fire broke out at the bustling Alaba Rago (Ram) Market in the Ojo area of Lagos State early Wednesday morning, causing widespread chaos.
The fire, which started around midnight, wreaked havoc, destroying goods worth millions of naira.

Responders from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), and other emergency agencies swiftly arrived at the scene.
The teams worked tirelessly through the night to control the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
Femi Oke-Osayintolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, along with Margaret Adeseye, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, assured the public that the situation had been contained, and efforts were ongoing to secure the area and minimize additional damage.
The fire’s aftermath has left traders at the market counting their losses, with many fearing the long-term impact on their businesses.
