An inferno has gutted a section of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.
PM News reports that thick smoke ascended the atmosphere of the airport on Wednesday, September 6, leading to chaos in the area.
It was gathered that the flames affected some operations, but passengers and airport personnel were quickly evacuated from the building.
The fire outbreak was reported at the Old Terminal building close to the baggage hall.
Officials of the fire services were seen at the scene of the fire incident battling to put out the fire.
So far, the cause of the fire outbreak is yet to the made public by the airport’s management.
