
Nigeria’s First Lady, Remi Tinubu on Tuesday, July 15, departed Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city to Katsina State for the funeral of late former president Muhammadu Buhari.
The First Lady arrived in Katsina alongside her entourage where Governor Dikko Radda will be leading the funeral of the late Buhari.
Also present in Katsina is the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
Amaechi arrived in Daura, the hometown of the late former president dressed in a white traditional attire.
He also visited the palace of the Emir of Daura ahead where he would be spending some hours prior to the funeral of the former president.
Other dignitaries expected in Daura for Buhari’s burial include the President, Bola Tinubu; the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and the governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal among several others.
The former president died at the age of 82 at a London Hospital on Sunday, July 13.
Buhari’s body- accompanied by the Vice President Kashim Shettima – is being flown from London to his hometown in Daura.
His funeral is also expected to take place in Daura on Tuesday, July 15.
