Rev Akinpelu Johnson, has urged President-elect Bola Tinubu, to fix power and security immediately after May 29.
He informed the incoming president, Tinubu to also ensure security is on the priority list as ‘it is one of the major remedy to our falling economy’. He also advised that solving insecurity will encourage and embolden investors to flood Nigeria, POLITICS NIGERIA reports.
He said this at the diocese’s Pre-Synod Breakfast Fellowship on the Church premises at Ebute-Metta, Lagos.
Rev. Johnson said the theme: “Confirmation, Youth, The Eucharist, Sustenance for the journey ahead” elaborates importance and benefits of The Lord’s Supper, a spiritual commitment reminding us of the death of Jesus Christ.
“These border on insincerity of those in government and of course with the ripple effect on Nigerians, churches and organisations incurring huge expenses on diesel, the money that would have been diverterted to solve other salient issues.
“I call on those elected to fear God who will bring them to book and therefore seek the good of the nation and not themselves while those who have complaints should allow the tribunals do their work.
“The most important thing is we do not want what happened in Sudan to occur in Nigeria,” he said.
The bishop called on the youth and those observing Eucharist or Holy Communion (The Lord’s Supper) to accord it the reverence it deserves.
