The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State have urged it’s supporters to go spiritual while waiting for the final judgment from the Supreme Court on Monday, January 20, 2020.
The apex court had on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 adjourned the sokoto governorship final judgement till Monday.
Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, the APC candidate in election had through his lawyer, Alex Iziyon (SAN) asked the court to set aside the judgment of the Election Petition Tribunal and Appeal Court affirming the election of Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of the PDP.
This Day reports that there is tension in Sokoto State following the sack of former governor of Imo State, Hon. Emeka Iheodoha by the Supreme court, after lower courts affirmed his election.
While the supporters of the APC were seen discussing how they wished the verdict Court would be similar to that of IMO State, those of the PDP were seen praying for Governor Tambuwal.
They were heard praying that what consumed others will not consume Tambuwal, as they claimed that the governor is a child of destiny.
The PDP had explained that it was sad that lmo fell to APC, adding that since the Supreme Court judgment is final, there is nothing the party could do than to re- strategize for future elections.
