Former Governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff has reportedly fled to Abuja to avoid being tested for COVID-19 by the state health officials.
POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that the APC chieftain had refused to be tested for Coronavirus after coming in contact with the late former governor, Mohammed Goni, and Shehu of Bama, Alhaji Kyari Elkanemi, who both died of the virus recently.
A member of the state prevention and response team said Modu-Sheriff has not been seen in the state since the funeral of his late father, Galadima Modu Sheriff, in Maiduguri.
Both Goni and Elkanemi had had last week attended the funeral of Sheriff’s late father before their deaths during the week.
Also, during the three days of mourning, the deceased were said to have had meetings with Sheriff at his father’s residence and his private residence in GRA Maiduguri.
