Former Grand Qadi of Kwara, Ahmad Ambali dies [PHOTO]

Justice AbdulMuttalib Ahmad Ambali (retired), a former Grand Qadi of the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, is dead.

POLITICS NIGERIA learned that Ambali died in the early hours of Thursday at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), Oke-Oyi, following a four-day illness. He was aged 83.

The incumbent Grand Qadi of Kwara State, Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen who confirmed the sad news, described the deceased as a God-fearing Muslim scholar and competent jurist who upheld the tenet of Islam.

“The fact that he died during Ramadan was significant and we asked Almighty Allah to forgive him and grant him Aljanat Firdous,” Daily Trust quotes Justice Kamaldeen saying.

“He was always focused. Indeed, Kwara has lost a top scholar and jurist. He was everything to me, my role model and mentor,” Justice Kamaldeen added.
