Former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun has praised President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that in the six years of his administration, he had achieved more than the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in its reign over Nigeria for 16 years.
Senator Amosun, represented by Mr Taiwo Adeoluwa, wrote the statement for the 2021 Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo Council Press Week in Ibadan where he was honoured with an award of excellence as the Nation’s BridgeBuilder and Icon of Progressive Bloc, stressing that the president “would have done more good for the nation than any other government before him” when Nigeria welcomes a new president in 2023.
“Agriculture and infrastructure have been the major focus of the Buhari’s administration,” said Mr Amosun. “Farmers have obtained more friendly loan packages than before. Nigeria rail system was regarded as the worst in Africa before Buhari’s emergence in 2015.
“Buhari has initiated, completed and delivered remarkable major rail networks and Nigeria now has the best rail system in West Africa with thousands of jobs created.
Mr Amosun was convinced that Nigeria would be in better condition when President Buhari leaves office. He insisted that the President was fair to all Nigerians and that during the six years of his administration, progress could be observed by everyone.
“President Muhammadu Buhari has done so much good for the nation and when he leaves office in 2023, he would have done more good for the nation than any other government before him.”
